Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother to Los Angeles. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles she managed to secure her first big part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room as the lead character. After earning an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder on the streets of Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. She played the lead character for two seasons and won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was a co-star together with Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, decided to make the move into the world of film. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of role. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. She also was a guest in the sixth series of Californication. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). She was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). She subsequently starred in the comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). The other roles she's played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to the role of the Kindergarten teacher.
